A Look
at 2022 Super Bowl Favorites
The 2022 Super Bowl
market has settled down somewhat now that teams are beginning their
preparations for the next season. Teams will begin their OTAs (organized team
activities) and minicamps prior to the summer.
The Super Bowl
futures market has been quiet now. A few quarterback moves prompted some
movement as did a few key trades. Other offseason happenings could have an
impact on the market as well. Here’s how the 2022 Super Bowl betting favorites look right now.

Bills
Favored at Most Books
When the very first
2022 Super Bowl odds were released, the Buffalo Bills were installed as the
overall favorite. Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and
he has some talent around him.
On the other side of
the ball, the Bills had the NFL’s best defense in terms of total yards allowed
per game (272.8) and points allowed per game (17.0). Many of the top experts
believe Buffalo would have beaten the Bengals and the Rams had they been able
to get past Kansas City. As a result, the Bills are still the 2022 Super Bowl favorite at +700.

Brady Is Back
At the end of the
2021 season, Tampa Bay QB Tom Brady decided it was time to call it a career. A
few weeks later, Brady decided he’d had enough of retirement and was back in.
The Bucs Super Bowl odds shifted as well.
After Brady’s
retirement announcement, Tampa Bay was given +2200 odds to win it all next
season. When Brady announced he was returning to play, the Bucs odds shifted
dramatically. With Brady and two healthy receivers - Mike Evans and Chris
Godwin - the Bucs offense would be back in 2022. Just like that, Tampa Bay was
a +750 favorite to win the 2022 Super Bowl.
Trades
Shake Up 2022 Super Bowl Favorites
Kansas City had been
right behind Buffalo on the betting board, but the Chiefs needed some salary
cap room to make their roster work. The team decided to trade WR Tyreek Hill to
Miami to provide some payroll relief.
After the trade, the
Chiefs fell all the way to +1000 on the board.
Their AFC West rival
Denver also got involved as the Broncos traded for QB Russell Wilson which
helped the Broncos go from +2500 to +1600. Kansas City is now third on the
board at +900.

Can the Rams Repeat?
An NFL team has not repeated as Super
Bowl champion since Brady and the New England Patriots did it in the early
2000s. The Rams will definitely have the roster to make it happen.
They return QB Matthew Stafford who won
his first Lombardi Trophy. Los Angeles also returns one of the best defenses in
the league. They allowed LB Von Miller to go, but they picked up LB Bobby
Wagner and added another weapon for Stafford - WR Allen Robinson.
With a few subtle changes in the
offseason, the Rams are now listed at +1200 to win the 2022 Super Bowl.

Super Bowl Favorites
Green Bay is given +1100 odds at top NFL
bookmakers despite letting WR Davante Adams go. QB Aaron Rodgers
returns and that is why the Packers remain among the favorites.
The Browns traded for former Texans QB
Deshaun Watson and watched as their Super Bowl odds fell from +3000 to +1800.
Cleveland is now favored to win the AFC North and Watson is among the favorites
to win the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
Cleveland, which failed to make the
postseason last year, is now listed (+1800) right behind Denver, the Los
Angeles Chargers, and the Dallas Cowboys. All three teams are given +1600 odds.
